Urban Park Stewardship with a Youth Development Approach (July & August 2013)

Who: Supervisors of youth park stewardship crews

Join fellow youth crew supervisors from Boston and across the country for a series of four online discussions facilitated by BYEN and Health Resources in Action.  Each online discussion will feature a brief webinar presentation on “Urban Park Stewardship with a Youth Development Approach”, sharing of essential tools for effective supervision, lively discussions with colleagues engaged in similar work, and useful activities and resources to be used right away in your summer programming.

The Professional Learning Community will meet online and via phone each Wednesday evening from 5:30PM to 7:00PM (EDT) from July 10 through July 31.  Commitment to participate in all four sessions is required.  Registration fees will be waived this time, so the sessions are being offered FREE of charge.

Webinar Objectives:
• Understand the role of positive youth development approach in urban youth park stewardship programs.
• Learn strategies for supervising youth in urban conservation employment.
• Build a community of practice among supervisors of youth park stewardship employees.
